METALLAK, A RACE AS MYSTERIOUS AS THE MAN.

The Balsams’ pristine 11,000 acre backyard is the natural place to host an endurance race. The METALLAK race is adventure racing at its finest and we’re excited to host a leg of the race at The Balsams. METALLAK is a unique racing experience that combines the unknowns of adventure racing with a marked course that allows you to take it all in instead of staring down at a map. It’s a true test of mental and physical fitness that unfolds on a stunning course with added elements that will have you smiling. There are hundreds of endurance events. Only one lets you race an adventure without being saddled with ridiculous amounts of gear, shuttling your equipment or the distractions of map reading.

We wish we could share the full details of the race… but even we don’t know what’s coming! That’s why they call it the race that’s as mysterious as the man. What we do know is that there are two levels of competition for those that want to spend varying amounts of time winding through the course. The 10-hour race is estimated to take 8 to 10 hours to complete, while the 6-hour race is approximated to take 4 to 6 hours to complete. Depending on if your strength is in trail running or trekking, mountain biking, paddling, or all three – you can race solo or with a team.

There will be a pre-race rally and bonfire, and of course post-race festivities as well to take the edge off your lactic acid buildup. For information regarding registration, pre and post-race activities, and onsite camping options, please visit the website for the METALLAK race.
