He was king of N.E. snow sports until his empire went bust. Now he is making his comeback.
Les has incredible plans for The Balsams, where more ski trails would be among the four-season activities. “The gondola goes in here and goes up over the ridgeline,” he says. The ATV and mountain bike rentals will be behind the hotel, and just beyond that will be the Nordic hot springs. “You can wake up and do almost anything you want to do.”
AG upholds Balsams land-use agreement

A key component of the proposal to redevelop the Balsams Resort has cleared the charitable trusts division of the N.H. Attorney General’s office. “The amendment seeks to include less than 20 additional acres of land to be used for skiing, and it will see the society add 116 acres of ‘new mitigation land’ while also protecting an additional 150 acres of old growth forest.” Continue reading for the full story from Union Leader.
U.S. ARMY CORPS WETLANDS PERMIT GRANTED
